Public Health Lab |
The
Division
of Public Health (DPH) is responsible for disease
control and prevention, the reduction of avoidable injury-related
deaths and disabilities, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
The three basic functions of public health include assessing the health
status of the population; assuring that people have the resources
and skills necessary to remain healthy; and establishing and implementing
sound public health policy.
The main office for the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division
of Public Health is located in downtown Atlanta.

of Public Health has 18
Health Districts and 159 County Health Departments.
Our main laboratory in Decatur has new state of the art equipment
and is the winner of the prestigious 2001
Georgia AIA Award for Architectural Excellence. |
