The State of Georgia offers special

DHS employees are subject to mandatory

Family
& Children Services
DFCS
is the part of DHS that investigates child abuse; finds foster homes
for abused and neglected children; helps low income, out-of-work
parents get back on their feet; assists with childcare costs for
low income parents who are working or in job training; and provides
numerous support services and innovative programs to strengthen
families.

Aging Services
The Division of Aging Services
(DAS)
administers a statewide system of services for senior citizens,
their families and caregivers.

Office
of Residential Childcare
The
Office of Residential Child Care facilities include 275 child-caring
institutions, 80 child-placing agencies and 9 outdoor child
caring programs as of February, 2009. In addition, there will
be the addition of one Children's Transition Care Center this
fiscal year. These will continue to be licensed by the Residential
Child Care Licensing Unit within the Office of Regulatory
Services.
Office
of Information Technology
OIT
provides computing, applications management, IT procurement, network,
and telecommunications services to all divisions and offices of
the Department of Human Resources.

The Georgia
Department of Human Services (DHS), Administrative Offices provide
services and support to DHS Divisions and Offices in performing

The main offices are located in downtown Atlanta across from Underground
Atlanta and adjacent to the Five Points MARTA rail and bus system. |
