Divisions
Family & Children Services DFCS is the part of DHS that investigates child abuse; finds foster homes for abused and neglected children; helps low income, out-of-work parents get back on their feet; assists with childcare costs for low income parents who are working or in job training; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to strengthen families.

Offices
Office of Residential Childcare The Office of Residential Child Care facilities include 275 child-caring institutions, 80 child-placing agencies and 9 outdoor child caring programs as of February, 2009. In addition, there will be the addition of one Children's Transition Care Center this fiscal year. These will continue to be licensed by the Residential Child Care Licensing Unit within the Office of Regulatory Services. Offices (Administrative)
The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Administrative Offices provide services and support to DHS Divisions and Offices in performing their missions.
